Refunds

Last updated 20 August 2026

The short version: your first payment comes back in full if you ask within 14 days, for any reason at all. After that you can cancel whenever you like, and Pro keeps running until the period you already paid for is over.

The first 14 days

Your first payment on a paid plan is refunded in full if you ask within 14 days of it being taken. Any reason, or none at all. You do not have to explain, and nobody will try to talk you out of it.

One email to hello@duevigil.com is enough. The money goes back the same way it came, to the card that paid, which usually takes a few working days on your bank's side.

After the first 14 days

Renewals are not refunded as a rule, because cancelling is always available and takes effect at the end of the period you already paid for. Nothing is cut off early: cancel on day two of a month you paid for and you keep Pro for the remaining twenty-nine.

There is one exception, and it is the situation people actually find themselves in. If a renewal caught you by surprise and you had not used the plan since it charged, say so and it will be refunded anyway.

What a refund does to your account

A refund closes the paid plan. Your account stays, and so does everything in it: clients, invoices, notes, reminder history. It simply returns to the free plan, which allows two new invoices a month.

Nothing is deleted and nothing is lost. Invoices past the free allowance keep their data, and only their reminders wait.

Who processes it

Payments are handled by Paddle, who are the seller of record for DueVigil. A refund is issued through them, which is why it appears on your statement from Paddle rather than from us.

You can also ask Paddle directly from the receipt they email you, but writing to us is quicker and we would rather hear it from you.

To ask for a refund, or to ask anything about one: hello@duevigil.com. We answer every message ourselves.
